Fall Sailing Not Over Yet!
As the days get shorter and the time falls back, our Fall Sailing Program also draws to a close. We have two more class sessions this month, with the final day Nov. 10. However, there are still some great opportunities to get on the water!
Coming up later this month for Sabots and Lasers, is the Turkey Day Regatta, Nov. 18-19, at Alamitos Bay Yacht Club, where the breeze usually blows even during the fall season. Don’t forget, Saturday, Nov. 18, is the annual Awards Banquet at BCYC, where some our most outstanding junior sailors will be recognized – please make your reservations with the club office.
High school-age sailors should definitely apply for the SCYYRA Winter Clinic coming up Dec. 2-3. Held at the US Sailing Center in Long Beach, this is an excellent opportunity to work with top-level coaching for Laser, CFJ, C420 and 29er sailors focused on taking their sailing to the next level. You must be accepted to attend this clinic, so don’t wait until the last minute to apply.
C420 sailors should also mark their calendars for the Perry Series Regatta in Coronado Dec. 9-10, taking place on this beautiful, wide open venue. Dec.10, Lido Isle Yacht Club is hosting Sabots, Lasers, CFJs, and RS Teras in the Holiday Cup. This fun regatta, right here in our home waters, is a great way to wrap up the year!
