October was special in several ways. One, the events at the club were exciting and unique. Each required member involvement to make them successful. These included the Dog Show, Oktoberfest, Scotch and Cigar Night, Compass Rose Concert, Avalon Cruise, pumpkin carving, races and Halloween night. Thank you to everyone who helped to make them great!
The second reason October was special was two full moons in one month. The first was the Harvest Moon (with Mars just above the moon shining like a star!), and the second, on Halloween night, was the Blue Moon. I hope you saw them – they were beautiful! And the Blue Moon lit the way into the month of November and the holidays.
November and December are very special months at BCYC. The club is decorated beautifully, the food is extra special and friendships flourish. Prime Rib Night Nov. 5 kicks off the Marine Toy Drive, followed by Awards Night Nov. 14. Las Commodoras will host their luncheon Nov. 19, and the club’s Two for One Dinner will be Friday, Nov. 27. The club is closed on Thanksgiving.
December’s activities focus on the holidays, starting with Prime Rib Night on Dec. 3, followed by Santa’s Brunch Dec. 13 and Christmas Boat Parade Dec. 16-20, with Family Night on Sunday, Dec. 20. Be sure to check the club’s holiday hours.
At this time of year, spending time with family and friends seems to be more important than in years past. Time is the most precious and appreciated gift we can give each other. Check the club’s events for the holidays, call a friend or family member and come to the club for several hours of gift-giving.
