We recently concluded another successful and fun-filled dog show. The humans were wonderful, the dogs were delightful. We have a ton of fabulously trained canines at BCYC. Category entries were agility (which the humans do, too), costume/look alike, and the king of them all, obedience. The obedience trophy, donated by Connie and Staff Commodore Ted O’Connor, is a perpetual award in memory of their dog, Riley, who won this part of the dog show multiple times. The winners this year, shown in order from first to third place, were:
Agility: Radar Bryant, Khaleesi Ayloush, Taika Shurilla-Brand
Costume/Look-A-Like: Lilly Parr, Pirate Geoffroy, Nugget Haven
Obedience: Taika Shurilla-Brand, Athena Groenhuyzen, Cooper Moffett
Now we move on to Oktoberfest, Oct. 9. Chef Georges Rapicault will provide German fare, which promises to be a gastronomic delight. Awards will be given for best costume, best yodel (very fun to enter) and beer stein-holding contest. Aged to Perfection, our very own Michael Bryant and Tim Whalen, will provide music. Yep, my guess is that they will even play the Chicken Dance. Please plan on attending this very festive event. Call the club now for reservations.
Las Commodoras wants to thank all of you who donated to the Camp Pendleton Marine children backpack drive. We delivered 50 fully stuffed backpacks and are so grateful to provide some smiles to our Marine children.
