BCYC is a Newport Beach hot spot, that is, according to one of our youngest members, Katharine Stone, daughter of Joel and Iren Stone. Katharine, a third grader at Newport Elementary, was given an assignment to write about her favorite places to visit in Newport Beach, and BCYC was at the top of her list. The Stone family has been very active since joining the club in November. Katharine and her brother Isaac sail in the Junior Program, and they are frequently at the club participating in activities and junior events. Joel helps out on the Junior Sailing Committee as well. Thank you for the nice compliment, Katharine. We’re happy you joined the friendliest club on the bay!

The Junior Events Committee meets on the fourth Wednesday of the month at 7 p.m. Join us in planning family-friendly activities!

Do you like the smell of salt air? Do you like to have fun in the water? Then I know just a place for you. Bahia Corinthian Yacht Club has a pool, places to store boats, a library, a dining room and docks. The club also has a junior sailing program, sailboat races to participate in, lots of different activities and much more.

Ahh, I love how relaxing Civic Center Sculpture Park is. At the park you can see many sculptures, plants, rocks and wildlife. You can feel the cool breeze on your face and smell the salty air. The best time to go is at sunset. It’s the perfect place to go at the end of your day.

Have you ever been to the Newport Beach Public Library? You can check out books, CDs and DVDs. You can also buy books and research information on the computers.
