The House Committee has continued this year to make necessary improvements to our club. The second-floor bathrooms have had a major refresh job, bringing them up-to-date. The old, tired look is gone and the rooms are much classier and more functional. The two retrofitted gangways have been repaired and should last us another 40 years. The upgraded safety rails are up to new standards. The large ship running lights and Columbia Room compass binnacle bring additional decor to remind us of the nautical traditions at BCYC.

Thanks to Maureen Lewis for organizing the library books with color coding to make sure members can find books. We continue to add to the club collection of nautical books from member donations. Our goal of standardizing all wainscoting and trim of the club continues, providing more visual consistency throughout the club. With the help of General Manager Scott Jones and our maintenance staff, many more small improvements have been completed, including the mid-patio light strings as well as patio furniture. While we did not complete everything that was on the list, we will continue the improvements.

Special thanks to all the members who take time to participate in the House Committee meetings. Their energy and ideas help BCYC to be the nicest one in the harbor.
